The installer is new and not yet signed, so SmartScreen shows a blue notice. Click More info, then Run anyway. The installer is the file you downloaded from this page.
Open System Settings > Privacy & Security, scroll down and press Open Anyway next to YourBrain2. Or right-click the app in Applications and choose Open. You do this once.
The app creates Documents\YourBrain2 (Mac: Documents/YourBrain2) for your files. Nothing is uploaded. AI features need your own API key, entered in Settings > AI models.
Download the new installer and run it over the old version. On Mac, drag the new app over the old one. Your files, settings and licence stay in place.
Choose a plan on the Pricing page. Your licence key arrives by e-mail. Paste it into Settings > Licence and press Activate while you are online (needed once). The same key works on Windows and Mac, on one computer at a time. Changing computer? Press Deactivate this device on the old one first.
YourBrain2 is in public beta. Code signing for Windows and Apple notarization come with the first release. Until then, the notices above are normal; the file comes only from this page.
