Your notes and documents stay on your computer. Here is what we do and do not hold about you.

The app keeps your files in a folder you choose (by default Documents\YourBrain2) as plain Markdown, PDF and image files, plus a local database with the extracted records. Nothing in that folder is uploaded to REXOH LLC. Back it up as you back up any other folder.
AI features work with your own API key for OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude), Google (Gemini) or DeepSeek. The app sends only the document or note you asked it to read, plus your working rules, to that provider. Each provider’s data policy applies: for example, with the OpenAI API and optional data sharing turned off, your data is not used to train OpenAI’s models. The app refuses to send financial documents to free-tier Gemini keys. Folders you mark as private, and the Secure Vault, are never sent.

Notes needs no account. For Second Brain, Personal Finance and Business Finance you register with an e-mail address. We store that address, the plan you chose, trial and renewal dates, and the licence issued to your installation. To tie the licence to your computer, the app sends us a code made from your computer’s machine id (a one-way hash, never the id itself), the computer’s name as set in Windows or macOS, the operating system and the app version, once at activation and at each check-in (about every three days). We use this only to count the computers of one licence and to show you which computer holds it; it is deleted with the licence. Nothing from your notes or documents is ever sent to us. Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc.; Stripe’s privacy policy applies to the payment itself. You can cancel at any time; after cancellation we keep the billing record as long as tax law requires and delete the rest.
If you open the site through a partner link (yourbrain2.com/r/name/), a cookie named yb2_via remembers that partner’s name for 60 days so we can pay their commission if you buy. It holds no personal data. Partners who join give us a name, an e-mail address and, for payouts, PayPal or bank details; we keep these as long as the partnership runs and as tax law requires. Your colour theme choice is kept in your browser only.
Our hosting provider logs standard server data (IP address, time, page requested) for security, for a limited time. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
When you send us feedback, a bug report or a message through this website, we store your name, e-mail address, your message and the app version and system you tell us. We use this only to answer you and to improve the software, and delete it when it is no longer needed for that. Please never send API keys, passwords or financial documents.
